Some of the team getting ready to go fishing to the fantastic Yelcho, a river that use to give surprises. |

Jim and Kelly fishing some of the pools of the Yelcho, these pools were little slower than previous years, it was one of the driest of the century, althought these were always fantastic for dry fly fishing this year too. |

Jim holding one of his many beautiful browns caught on the Futaleufu River, he is a great fly fisherman and knows how to enjoy life, it's always a pleasure to be with him, enjoying and having fan. Futaleufu river was also great for fly fishing all the season. The low waters allowed to our friends to catch many big fish along the summer season. This is one of the reasons that Chilean Patagonia offers stable fishing, it doesn't matter if the rivers are high or low, you always have many choices to go in any condition, just you need wide experience to decide when, how and where to fish in. |

Here is Kelly showing one of his many good fish caught along the week fishing our great rivers. This photo was took on the Futaleufu river. Paolo is helping him to measure this fish. Kelly is great fly fisherman, he is experienced and patient, and Patagonia is waiting for another chance to save a image with a monster trout. |

David and Todd Casting to some rainbow trout that were zipping on the surface. Yelcho is the Yelcho. |
José is showing this big brown trout caught in the Futaleufu river, this river section gave good fish almost every time we were up there. Aside its good fishing, just for the beauty the trip is worthwhile. |

Dinners in Quinchos, special outdoors places for the great "Patagonian asados", the lambs made by "Pascuero" were superb, a real Gaucho of Chilean Patagonia. Also the great food prepared by Clarita, Pebres, Sopaipillas, empanadas, and the great Chilean wines. |
These are Clarita's Chilean Empanadas, a traditional food of our country. Usually this is a good entrance accompanied with good wines before to start eating a good Chilean barbeque. In Patagonia the "Asados de Cordero" (lambs barbeques) are the supreme food accompanied with great wines, it is like to be in the heaven. |
Shore lunches, another good time to enjoy outdoor life. It is always great to stop fishing for one and a half or two hours to take a rest and relax. |
Mike fighting a good rainbow caught on a dry, Yelcho is always a superb river for dry fly fishing. He is also advanced plus fly fisherman, caught many big rainbows and had almost hooked the Nessy of the Yelcho, I saw that fish, that monster brown could have eaten my head. With good guides who really know this fishing area, it is almost sure here you could have the lifetime fishing. That is our target every time we have guests. |

Todd wading a beautiful spot near a bridge of some of the horse trails of the Chilean Patagonia. Our Patagonia offers the chance to go by the most untouched places on the earth. |
Believe me, this fish is much bigger than it looks, you can see the hand that's helping to hold the net, the fish is bent on this huge net, and also you can estimate how big this is if you imagine you take that hand to the head of the brown, the trout is pretty lower from the frame of the net. Kelly who caught this monster, and us couldn't take a picture, right when we had the camera almost ready to shot it, this strong and healthy fish escaped like a lightning swimming on so few water, it was amazing. We think it was 12 or more Lbs. |
One of the first trout of Chris, he was also absolutely beginner, when he arrived to Chile I think he told us never fly fish before, and after two or three days he was catching nice fish, even lost some big ones, not by his fault, our fish are totally wild so they are not easy to land. |
Jim caught several steelheads like this one and bigger on 18 or 20 size dry flies. This is one of the reasons why most of our friends come back year after year. It's normal to catch rainbows and steelheads between 2 to 4 lbs. on 18 and 20 size hooks with 5x tippets. It is not rare to hook some trout much bigger on these small flies, but other thing is to land them, although it is not impossible, some of our friends landed some fish that were from 6 to 10 lbs. fishing micro flies. |
David showing his nice rainbow caught on very small dry, he was a beginner using small dries when the week began, after two or three days was fishing almost an advanced dry fisher. Also he caught a big brown that is on the first page of these report, he is with Jose my brothert, his guide that day. |
Todd caught this nice rainbow on 20 size mayfly on one of the pools of Yelcho river. He was completely beginner when arrived to Chile, and after a week fishing with us he became in almost advanced fly fisher, and caught many trout and even lost two monster browns fishing with streamers. |
Jose talking with David about the fish they caught together, taking it joking, the matter was how David shows the trout for the photos, the idea is to hold the fish so that he shows how really big they are. It was funny. David caught many nice trout and some big browns. |
Many of our rivers have powerful and dangerous sections and we do not recommend you do your own fishing on these waters. It is very important to have experienced guides, not just for the rivers but also for the lakes because in Chilean Patagonia the weather can change quickly and sometimes violently. |
Last dinner we prepared a complete lamb for our great friends, with wines and the great Clarita's cuisine we full enjoyed this farewell night. Thanks my friends, we are waiting to have another great week with you all. |
